Hello & Welcome Back!

the June issue

VOLUME 08 / ISSUE 06/ JUN 2026

There’s just something special about June along the Elk.
There’s just something special about June along the Elk.

From strawberry patches to ballfields, this month always feels like the true start of summer in our little corner of West Virginia. And, of course, we love strawberries! So this issue is packed with delicious strawberry recipes, backyard strawberry gardening tips, and a highlight of Elk River’s own Country Roads and Berries, where you can pick your own fresh strawberries right off the vine. June is also filled with baseball and softball games, and we are proud to highlight Clendenin Little League as this month’s feature story. This year’s “Clendenin Strong – 10 Years” commemorative emblems are a powerful reminder not just of baseball, but of resilience, remembrance, and community pride since the 2016 Flood. The League is so grateful for the volunteers and businesses who gave their time, energy, and support to help rebuild the program through the years.
